A Message from Our CEO

Dear Valued Members,

As I reflect on another great year at Neighborhood Credit Union, I am proud of the journey we have shared together to make Neighborhood Credit Union the very best.

This year, our employees had an initiative centered around the acronym “WE CARE.” WE CARE encapsulates all the most important characteristics of our Neighborhood Credit Union philosophy and how they impact every aspect of our job. The WE CARE attitude will guide our service to you, to each other, and to our communities.

Community is important to us. Throughout 2022, our teams spent time serving at the North Texas Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, as well as collecting food, toys, and school supplies for our local communities. You also helped us raise $25,000 to donate to Children’s Health. As a credit union, we have pledged to complete 1,000 service hours in 2023, and I’m confident we will exceed that!

We had the privilege of opening two branches this year to better serve you. In June we relocated our Waxahachie branch to a beautiful, free-standing building a couple miles north from the previous location. We now have 24/7 ITMs and a larger facility to serve the growing membership in Waxahachie.

Our second new branch was opened in a brand-new facility at the exact same coordinates as our former main branch/headquarters in Oak Cliff. In October we completed the transformation of our newest space and officially returned to our roots down the street from the Main Dallas Post Office. There was a lot of excitement and nostalgia at the grand opening, and ultimately, I am delighted to be back in our original neighborhood greeting familiar faces and welcoming new ones.

We also experienced a great loss this year. Our friend and colleague, Mike Roark, passed away this summer. Mike was our senior vice president of lending for the past 12 years and had a tremendous influence on our organization and the membership. He is greatly missed by all.

As I look toward the coming year, I think that 2022 has been a particularly strange economic environment for everyone to manage their finances. With inflation rising to record levels and murmurs of a recession, one bright spot for me is to see the continued trust you, our members, have in us as we go into the new year. The credit union is here for you when times are tough.

Neighborhood Credit Union is always evolving and progressing to offer you the best products and services out there. The plan in 2023 is to continue to improve our award-winning mobile app features, including how you communicate with our team members and the level of control you have over your cards. We’ve also just introduced a new rewards program, MyPoints, and will continue to add more opportunities to earn free rewards in the upcoming year.

We are also staying on top of the latest technology to protect your finances and personal information. The safety and security we’ve provided over the past 92 years is not something we take lightly. Our investment in cybersecurity and data protection software is a top priority and we’re continuing to make strides in those areas.

With all the changes we make we will never lose sight of our North Star – you, the member!  All that we do is focused on enhancing your financial condition. Thank you for your membership and the opportunity to serve you and your family. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and a very happy and healthy new year.

Sincerely,

Chet Kimmell
