Carolyn Jordan Inducted into the African-American Credit Union Coalition 2026 Hall of Fame
Washington, D.C. – Neighborhood Credit Union proudly announces that Chief Growth Officer Carolyn Jordan was officially inducted into the African American Credit Union Coalition (AACUC) Hall of Fame during the 2026 America’s Credit Unions Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC) in Washington, D.C. The induction ceremony took place March 3rd at the Hamilton Hotel and honored five distinguished leaders whose careers have significantly advanced the credit union movement and expanded financial opportunity in communities across the country.
The African American Credit Union Coalition’s Hall of Fame recognizes individuals whose leadership has strengthened financial inclusion, advocacy, and innovation within the credit union industry. Jordan joins an elite group of leaders whose contributions have shaped the movement and created greater access to financial services for African Americans and underserved communities.
Jordan has dedicated more than 46 years to Neighborhood Credit Union, beginning her career at the organization in 1979. Over four decades, she has held numerous leadership roles across lending, retail operations, and member development before becoming Chief Growth Officer. In her current role, she leads digital banking, marketing, data analytics, product development, and advocacy efforts that help drive member-focused innovation and growth.
“Carolyn’s career reflects a remarkable commitment to both our members and the credit union movement,” said Neighborhood Credit Union President and CEO Chet Kimmell, who introduced Jordan during the ceremony. “Carolyn has spent more than four decades building this organization, developing people, and strengthening our industry. If anyone has earned a permanent place in the AACUC Hall of Fame, it is her.”
Jordan also serves as President of the AACUC Texas Regional Chapter and President of the Neighborhood Credit Union Foundation, where she supports financial education initiatives and community outreach. Her advocacy work extends nationally through involvement with America’s Credit Unions, the Credit Union Executives Society, and governmental affairs committees that support policies benefiting credit union members.
The induction took place during the credit union industry’s annual Governmental Affairs Conference, where leaders from across the country gather in Washington, D.C. to advocate for policies that strengthen credit unions and the communities they serve.
Jordan’s leadership and industry contributions have earned numerous recognitions throughout her career, including honors as a Dallas Business Journal C-Suite Leader and Woman in Technology. She holds a Master of Science in Business Analytics from Texas A&M University–Commerce and a marketing certification from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business.
Her Hall of Fame induction reflects both her professional achievements and her lasting impact on the credit union industry, where she has championed innovation, mentorship, and expanded financial opportunity for members.
