Description
The Community Relations Manager is responsible for leading the credit union's community outreach and
engagement efforts to build strong, mutually beneficial relationships with the communities served. This role
oversees the planning, development, and execution of strategic initiatives that enhance brand recognition, promote
financial literacy, and includes cultivating and developing Select Employee Groups (SEGs), and driving
membership growth. The manager will lead a team of community relations officers, ensure alignment with
organizational goals, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maximize impact.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Establishes and oversees community relations and Select Employee Group strategy.

Schedules on-site visits with SEGs and Community Partners, maintaining effective and consistent communication.
- Identifies key areas of focus for outreach efforts, including communities our branches serve, school
districts and businesses creating high-impact partnerships. - Collaborates with SVP Marketing & Community Impact to oversee budget to remain on track with
projected expenses

- Fosters community relations and drives engagement through outreach, education, and event coordination.
- Builds and maintains relationships with community leaders, local organizations, schools, postal districts, and businesses. Scheduling onsite visits with SEGs (Selective Employee Groups), Chambers of Commerce, and community partners maintaining effective and consistent communication
- Facilitates the creation, scheduling, and presentation of Financial Literacy courses as a SEG and community benefit in coordination and collaboration with Neighborhood CU Foundation.
- Maintains accurate calendar of events for internal publication and coordination of ALICO and CollabCo participation.
- Communicates with Retail branches regarding planned community events, SEG visits, and prospecting efforts.
- Represents the credit union at high-profile events, sponsorships, and community gatherings.
- Tracks and reports on the effectiveness of events and community initiatives.
- Develops lead tracking system to ensure follow-up by branch personnel

Coordinates communication strategies with marketing department and third-party vendors:
- Collaborates with the marketing department to ensure community relations campaigns align with overall
credit union marketing efforts. Develops campaigns specific to community events, SEG partners, and
branch initiatives, - Oversees CRM software program working with marketing and 3rd party vendors to develop contact campaigns for consistent and continuous communication with SEGs.
- Coordinates vendor relationships to purchase special event, SEG, and business development specialty
items for use by Community Relations Officers.
- Collaborates with the marketing department to ensure community relations campaigns align with overall
- Assumes supervisory and management responsibilities.

- Fulfills management responsibilities in accordance with Neighborhood Credit Union policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Interviews, trains, and coaches’ employees. Plans, assigns, and directs work.
- Appraises performance; rewards, counsels, and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
- Performs such other functions that might be needed from time to time and assists others to complete tasks and work assignments.

Knowledge and Experience

- Education/Certification
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or related field experience.
- Experience Required
- Five years of experience in community relations, public relations, or similar role, with strong focus on sales and business development.
- Preferred Experience
- Financial services, sales, or nonprofit experience.
- Passion for financial education and community development.
- Required Knowledge
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building abilities.

- Proficient in event planning and execution.
