Job Description
Supports essential back-office processes in the areas of member accounts, products, services, account related discrepancies, daily clearings and electronic delivery systems.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responds to member inquiry via mail, fax and/or internal requests regarding the operation of accounts, adding or deleting service features on various accounts and resolving account discrepancies.
- Accountable for all credit card related functions including but not limited to account balances, payment information, authorizations, name and address updates, account adjustments, statements, PIN information, and ordering replacement/additional card. Also responsible for updating account related to fraud/stolen cards, tracking fraud and reviewing necessary reports.
- Responsible for providing information to accounting related to the appropriate GLs in timely manner.
- Responsible for processing and tracking all debit card/atm disputes for both internal and external cards via phone, email, fax or text.
- Answer members inquiries on travel, limit increases, card ordering, card activation issues and other issues with their debit card via phone, email, fax or text.
- Responsible for working various debit card and credit card reports.
- Supports the products and services of the credit union by interfacing with other departments to ensure timely and effective member service.
- Performs such other functions that might be needed from time to time and assists others to complete tasks and work assignments. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) ; some college preferred
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, percentages, rate and ratios
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret instructions, procedures and regulations
- One to two years PC experience including mainframe, word-processing and spreadsheet applications
- One to two years’ experience in processing debit/credit card disputes; working knowledge of Visa or MasterCard Rules and Regulations is preferred.
- Familiar with the differences in products and services offered by other financial institutions to those offered by the credit union
