Neighborhood Credit Union Awards Scholarship to Local Student

WAXAHACHIE, Texas – Neighborhood Credit Union is very proud to announce Landry Teeter as its 2013 Scholarship Contest Winner for Waxahachie High School. Landry received $1,000 for her college education at the Senior Awards Ceremony on May 20, 2013.

As the cost of college tuition continues to rise, the importance of financial literacy increases as well. Students submitted an essay about the greatest benefit of saving, and were selected based on the quality of their essay, academic excellence and community involvement. Landry worked at Clift Elementary School every afternoon this school year. She also was involved in student government, National Honors Society and President of Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Landry is in the top 5% of her class and plans to attend University of Texas at Austin to study Communications in the fall.

“Here at Neighborhood Credit Union, we are committed to the success of young adults in the communities we serve. That is why we are proud to offer scholarships to assist these students with their college expenses,” says Neighborhood Credit Union CEO Chet Kimmell.
