Come Enjoy the Highland Village Balloon Festival!

Up, up, and away!

The Highland Village Balloon Festival is back August 18-20 at Unity Park! Bring the family and enjoy a weekend full of music, arts and crafts, a classic car show, and of course the iconic hot air balloons!

We’ll be out enjoying the festivities as well, so feel free to drop by our Neighborhood Credit Union tent and say hi. We’ll have some awesome giveaways as well as some daily raffle prizes!

As a bonus, here are some hot air balloon facts! Did you know?

  • Sheep, a duck, and a chicken were the first passengers aboard a hot air balloon. They survived the very first hot air balloon flight, which lasted about eight minutes.
  • Hot air balloons were invented in France in the 1700s. It is the oldest form of human flight!
  • Hot air balloons have a “chase crew.” This is where a ground crew follows the balloon throughout the flight in a chase vehicle.
  • During the American Civil War, hot air balloons were used by both sides for reconnaissance missions.

We hope to see you there!
