Q and A about the Prize Savings Account

1. How does the Prize Savings Account work?   Simply make a $25.00 minimum deposit to open your Prize Savings Account. At the end of each month, for every $25 in average daily balance in your account, you get 1 chance at the monthly, quarterly and yearly prize drawings. The more you save, the more chances you have to win!

 

2. Do my entries accumulate month to month?   No, your entries are based on the previous month's average daily balance. After each monthly drawing all entries will be disposed of for purposes of the following monthly drawing, and entry qualifications will be based on the Prize-based Savings Account's current standing.

 

3. Do I have to have a regular savings/share account as well?    No.  The Prize Savings Account and the Regular Share/Savings accounts are interchangeable for your membership account.

 

4. Is Overdraft Protection available from my Prize Savings Account?  Yes.

 

5. How do I automatically enter the sweepstakes?   When you open a Prize Savings Account, you are automatically entered in the monthly drawing starting with the month you opened the account. You must have an average daily balance of $25 in order to quality for the drawing.

 

6. How are my entries determined? Entries are based on the following:

• One entry monthly for every $25 in monthly average balance in your Prize Savings Account at each month-end for monthly prizes.
• One entry quarterly for every $25 in monthly average balance in your Prize Savings Account at he end of each quarter for quarterly prizes.
• One entry annually for every $25 in monthly average balance in your Prize Savings Account at the end of the calendar year for annual Grand.

7. How are entries calculated? Automatic entries will be recorded by the Credit Union once the average daily balance in calculated during month-end processing. Qualifying deposits/balances must be received and posted by the Credit Union by midnight Central Standard Time on the day of each month-end. Automatic entries are only eligible to win during the drawing period covered.

 

8. Can I enter the monthly drawing if I don't have an account? For Eligible Neighborhood Credit Union Member s who have not yet enrolled in the Prize Savings Account, once a month, you can print your name, address, city, state, zip code and day and evening telephone numbers on a 3x5 card, along with the words, "Neighborhood Credit Union Prize-based Savings Account Prize Entry" and mail it to: Neighborhood Credit Union, 641 Yorktown St., Dallas, TX 75208, Attn: Marketing. Each handwritten entry will be deemed received by the Credit Union when it is time and date stamped by Credit Union personnel. Each handwritten entry will receive one chance to win within each drawing period. All handwritten entries must be received by 5:00pm Central Standard Time on the last business day of each month. each member who enters by submitting a handwritten entry will automatically be entered one into the quarterly drawing for the quarter in which they submitted an entry, and one in the annual drawing if a handwritten entry is submitted anytime during the year, provided the entrant is still a Neighborhood Credit Union member in good standing at the time of the drawing.

 

9. When are the drawings? There will be twelve monthly drawings held on the first business day of the month following each monthly drawing period. There will be one Quarterly Prize drawing held on the first business day of the quarter following each quarterly drawing period. Additionally, there will be one Grand Prize drawing held at the end of each year.

 

10. What are the prizes? Ten Prize Savings Account Prizes will be awarded for each Prize Savings Account monthly period - this includes cash and merchandise valued at over $1,000 per month. One plasma TV will be awarded for Prize Savings quarterly period. One Grand Prize will be awarded for the year end period.

 

11. If I win, how will I be contacted? Winners will be contacted on the day of the drawing based on available member contact information and need not to be present to win. Prizes are not transferable. Each winner is solely responsible for reporting and paying applicable state and federal taxes. Each winner must provide the Credit Union with valid identification and a valid taxpayer identification number or Social Security number before any prize will be awarded. All prizes are subject to change throughout the Prize Savings Account Sweepstakes Period.

 

12. What are my odds of winning? Actual odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

 

13. How is eligibility determined? Legal residents of the United States (except where prohibited by law) are eligible to participate and win. All participants must be at least 18 years of age, and a member in good standing in the Credit Union. Participants are limited to winning one prize per primary member (Social Security Number) per month. Employees of Neighborhood Credit Union, its subsidiaries, and the immediate family of any such persons (spouse, parents, siblings and children and each of their spouses) and persons living in the same household of each of these individuals whether related are eligible to win.

 

14. How can I get a copy of the Official Rules? Written copies of these rules are available during normal business hours at any Credit Union location, by mail upon written request to Neighborhood Credit Union, Attn: Marketing, 641 Yorktown Rd., Dallas, TX, 75208 with a stamped, self-addressed return envelope, and at myncu.com.

 

15. Can I link my Prize Savings Account to my Visa CheckCard plus debit? No.

 

16. What is the minimum balance to earn interest? $100.00

 

17. Can I make withdrawals? Yes, up to three per month. Over three withdrawals, there is a fee per withdrawal.

 

18. Does the Prize Savings Account count towards the Neighborhood Rewards Program? Yes. Your deposits are counted towards the Neighborhood Deposit Rewards, Total Rewards or Pinnacle Rewards.

 

19. Do winnings get reported to the IRS? Yes. Be advised that we will report the value of your winnings to the IRS.
