Overdraft Consent Message
Recent regulatory requirements now require members to sign a consent form to participate in overdraft protection (Courtesy Pay) plans for ATM and debit transactions. As you know Courtesy Pay protects your checking account when you don't have enough funds in your checking account to cover a retail transaction. Please note that you do not need to sign the form to continue Courtesy Pay for checks or ACH items.

Sometimes things don't go as we plan, and that can mean not having enough funds in our checking account to cover a retail transaction. If that happens it can be embarrassing, not to mention costly, when it comes to merchant fees. To help members avoid this occasional problem, Neighborhood Credit Union offers Courtesy Pay. This value-added service covers you up to a limit of $1,000 for KASASA Cash, $900 for Choice Checking and $750 for KASASA Tunes, when an account has insufficient funds to cover a transaction.
For your maximum convenience, in addition to checks, the program includes ATM transactions, Visa CheckCard Plus Debit Card transactions and automatic electronic payments (ACH).
The limit for Fresh Start Checking is $200. Fees for check and ACH electronic items are $33 per item. Fees for ATM/Visa CheckCard Plus Debit Card transactions are $28.00 per item.

Revised Disclosure
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2009, PARAGRAPH 2 OF YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT AGREEMENT WITH OVERDRAFT PAYMENT PROVISIONS WILL BE AMENDED WITH SUB-SECTION (C) AS FOLLOWS:
Courtesy Pay Program. If you are eligible in accordance with Credit Union policies, the Credit Union may choose to cover overdrafts in your checking account resulting from checks and other select electronic withdrawals, if no other means of overdraft protection is available as described in paragraphs 2(a) and (b). This program is referred to as Courtesy Pay. Such overdrafts shall subject your account to a paid overdraft fee as disclosed on the Fee Schedule on check, ACH electronic transactions, ATM and VISA Check Card transactions. Fees may not exceed $1,000 for KASASA Cash, $900 for Choice Checking and $750 for KASASA Tunes. For Fresh Start Checking Accounts, overdrafts and related fees may not exceed a cumulative balance of $200. Your account may not have a negative balance resulting from overdrafts and related fees for more than 30 calendar days; thus, you just deposit funds in your account or obtain an approved loan from the Credit Union to cover the full amount of any negative balance within 30 days from the date the account incurs a negative balance. Under this overdraft program, any account with a negative balance for more than 30 days will be subject to collection. The Credit Union may discontinue covering overdrafts at any time without notice.
