Student (Teen) Accounts
Neighborhood Credit Union knows young adults have unique savings, checking and loan needs. Student Accounts are open to Neighborhood Credit Union members ages 13-18, and come with lots of great benefits:
- Student Checking Account
Open with a deposit of $25, no minimum balance, monthly fee or per-check charges. Dividends paid on average daily balance of $500 or more.
- Smart CD
For our 12-17 year old members. This 10% APY (Annual Percentage Rate) CD matures on their 18th birthday. Start with as little as $100 and deposit up to $1000. The CD is in the student's name and a financial seminar is offered.
- Student Auto Loan
If you are 18 and have no previous credit history, our First-Time Auto Loan is right for you. Simply set-up direct deposit and auto payments and save money with our competitive rates.
- Student Scholarships
Neighborhood Credit Union awards annual scholarships to high school seniors or college freshmen every year. Winners are determined by an essay contest. Information about the scholarship goes out in the fall. Entries are normally due the first of March and awarded in June. Stay posted for details about next year's Essay Scholarship contest.
- VISA Check Card
The Neighborhood Credit Union VISA Check Card is an ATM and debit card in one. Members 16 and over can use the Check Card to draw from the funds in their checking account.
