MORTGAGE LOAN PROCESSOR-NORTH DALLAS BRANCH

Neighborhood Credit Union is currently looking for a Mortgage Loan Processor to assist in our Lending department, at the North Dallas Branch, ensuring accurate and timely processing of mortgage loan documents.  The ideal candidate will be detail oriented and have good organizational skills in order to deal with the multitude of paperwork involved in mortgage processing.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares application for funding, obtaining appraisals, title work, credit reports and any other documentation necessary to underwrite the loan.
  • Assists member during loan process, obtaining additional information when necessary and keeping member informed as to the status of their loan.
  • Coordinates and performs closing.  Ensures legal documents, survey documents and insurance policies are in place.
  • Processes mortgage payoffs, modification agreements, subordination agreements and release of liens and ensures accuracy of documents.
  • Responsible for booking loans upon request and ensuring the accuracy of loan documents.
  • Responsible for posting payments, escrow analysis, 1098 generation and HUMDA reporting.
  • Responsible for processing and posting 1st mortgage payments, generating billing statements, and balancing mortgage GLs.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the credit union's mortgage lending practices are in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Analyzes potential lending opportunities involved in each lending situation to further assist the borrower as well as increase the credit union's lending portfolio.
  • Follows all policies and procedures regulated by the credit union as well as governmental policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Performs such other functions that might be needed from time to time, and assists others to complete tasks and work assignments.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED); and, six months to one year related experience
  • A minimum of one year PC experience including mainframe, word-processing and spreadsheet applications; preferably Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to efficiently operate general office equipment such as: copy machine, calculator, and fax machine
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to co-workers, vendors and members
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as credit bureau reports, debt to income ratio reports, policy and procedure manuals and regulations
  • Ability to work well under stressful situations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, percentages, rates, and ratios
  • Must be able to use the credit union's computer system for input/output transactions.  Such usage includes, but is not limited to, retrieval of information, printing out individual statements of account, inputting data, updating information, special access to certain fields, and general maintenance of the credit union financial and ancillary records.

 

Salary:  $14.00-$16.00/hr  Based on Experience
